Apple in 2014 announced that foremost auto manufacturers are rolling out CarPlay, the smarter, safer and more fun way to use iPhone in the car. CarPlay is basically iOS for your dashboard. By placing the most trendy iPhone functions on a big screen right in the centre of a car’s dashboard, and adding enhanced voice control and interaction through Siri, Apple aims to make using your iPhone while driving an easier and, more significantly, safer affair. CarPlay gives iPhone users an unbelievably instinctive way to make calls, use Maps, listening music and access messages with just a word or a touch. Users can easily control CarPlay from the car’s native interface or just push-and-hold the voice control button on the steering wheel to activate Siri without distraction. Vehicles from Ferrari, Mercedes-Benz and Volvo will premiere CarPlay to their drivers this week, while additional auto manufacturers bringing CarPlay to their drivers down the road include BMW Group, Ford, General Motors, Honda, Hyundai Motor Company, Jaguar Land Rover, Kia Motors, Mitsubishi Motors, Nissan Motor Company, PSA Peugeot Citroën, Subaru, Suzuki and Toyota Motor Corp. All aside, however, CarPlay is a game-changing interface that has immense potential to re-invigorate the aftermarket car audio industry.

Apple iPhone 6 Preview

Apple iPhone 6 Preview:

Just like every year, the launch of another iPhone had held the attention of techies and mobile enthusiasts. But this time it had a bit more edge, for Apple had released an iPhone which was ‘big.’

The ergonomics are taken to another level with this classy block of metal and glass. It’s no doubt the slimmest iPhone, and also defies its real weight-126g- by feeling exceptionally light. The way the 8MP camera captures moments is just sterling, with vibrant colours and detailed images, owing to the wider aperture and lightning-fast focus lock. You can now manually set the exposure.

iPhone 6 is Apple’s biggest advancement in iPhone history, featuring a stunning 4.7-inch Retina HD display, and packed with innovative technologies in an all-new dramatically thin and seamless design.

The winner feature, however, is the display. At 1334 x 750 pixels, the resolution is pretty great, if not on par with the insane QuadHD resolutions of today’s Android phones. The 4.7” screen also provides great viewing angles and good legibility even in sunlight. It’s versatile for all kinds of activities- photography, gaming, work, and reading.

Driven by the dual-core 64-bit A8 processor, iPhone 6 pulls off a stellar performance on a sustained level. In spite of the stingy 1GB RAM, the phone does not lag. The battery is also very long-lasting, leaving some juice in the tank even after a turbo run on the phone. The call quality is also great, with not even a single dropped call in sight.

The M8 motion coprocessor can continuously measure your motion data, even when the device is asleep, saving battery life for fitness apps that use the sensors all day.

iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus introduce Apple Pay, an easy way to securely pay for physical goods and services in stores or apps with just the touch of a finger.

The FaceTime HD camera now captures over 80 per cent more light with a new sensor, larger f/2.2 aperture and advanced new features including burst mode and HDR video.

iOS, the latest Apple platform, is what runs the iPhone 6. With improved performance and bug fixes, it has also added support for inter-app communication. The keyboard is also slightly different in the landscape mode with several more options. Continuity and Reachability are added features, where the former enables communication between iPhone and other Apple products like iPad and Macbook. Even Siri works more efficiently with a higher recognition of Indian accents and with the new “Hey Siri” command a higher level of touchless control is attained.

iPhone 6 comes in gold, silver or space grey, and will be available in the UK for a suggested retail price of £539 (£449.17 ex VAT) for the 16GB model, £619 (£515.83 ex VAT) for the 64GB model and, for the first time, a new 128GB model for £699 (£582.50 ex VAT).

Bottom line: if you can afford it, get it. The iPhone 6 is one of the best your money can buy.

APPLE iPAD MINI 3

APPLE iPAD MINI 3:

The Apple iPad mini 3 or should we call it the iPad mini 2 with Touch ID and a new color? Hard to say. This one’s pretty much the very same spin-off of the last year’s tablet with a more secure Touch ID and this time it comes in gold too. It’s not even a budget option, considering it crossed its predecessor’s range with almost the same technology. But let’s look at its pluses-

Apple is right to be so proud of its breakthrough Touch ID. It is slicker than ever with the new iPad mini 3. This perfect biometric sensor could be set up in seconds and long-pressing the Home button unlocks your tablet securely. It’s also adaptable to all kinds of orientations so no worries if you’re going to hold up your tablet upside down. Even more- Touch ID APK too has been incorporated into iOS 8, enabling developers to score brownie points for enhancing security for their apps. We don’t know for sure how far Apply Pay is going to go…yet. So once it is embraced by many more retailers out there, so the future of exploiting the Touch ID is still a question mark.

APPLE iPAD MINI 33

With a massive storage of 128GB and the Retina display of 1536 x 2048 resolution (cropping up again, but that’s a pleasure), the design and display look quite brilliant. Oh even the design is the same as iPad mini 2, measuring 200 x 134.7 x 7.5 mm and 331g. It comes with a supposed battery life of 10 hours for multimedia but that excludes gamers. Oops.

The interface is very stable, with very little in the way of crashes or lags. The iOS 8.1 works as well here as it does on the iPhone range, but with these added features, the stability and usability are even better.

MacBook Pro with Retina display review

MacBook Pro with Retina display review by PING! Magazine

The MacBook Pro is Apple’s latest laptop available in 13” and 15” and now both versions offer Retina display.  The MacBook Pro with the added Retina display has the same design as the previous few models from Apple.  Slightly lighter and thinner, the 13” model is 18mm thick and weighs 1.57kg as compared to 19mm and 1.61kg of the 2012 model.  This laptop carries the signature Apple logo with silver aluminium metal finish and the chiclet keyboard along with the glass trackpad. The 13” Pro is available with a 2.4 GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor with turbo boost speeds up to 2.9 GHz, 128GB of flash storage and 4GB of memory for £1,100.

MacBook Pro with Retina display -PING

The MacBook Pro Retina offers a resolution of 2560 x 1600 – the exact same as the model of 2012.  The resolution is crisp and pleasing to the eye.  It is particularly useful to photographers for accuracy. Video and picture editing can also be done with ease.

Pro does not have the issues with applications and software that earlier existed.  The Mavericks operating system looks amazing and most of the major apps have also been upgraded.  Intel’s Haswell leads to significantly better power performance.  The processor of Intel Iris provides battery life that lasts for a good day but not as long as that of the MacBook Air. Nonetheless, it is still very good.

Thunderbolt 2 has been included. Transfer speeds are faster and the range of connectivity is more. The product is great for using at home.

Apple campus 2 Cupertino

Apple campus 2 Cupertino

The Apple Campus 2 project has been there in the talks since 2006, when Late Steve Jobs made the Cupertino City Council take a note of the buildings that Apple had acquired to materialize its dream of building another campus, just a mile away from the very first Apple Campus, in Cupertino. The campus was supposed to be built by 2015, but now it is expected to open not any time before 2016.

The story began when Texas-based real estate fir Hines Interests began a shopping spree, of properties in Cupertino, for Apple. The sellers, at the time, didn’t know about Apple being the real buyer. Apple’s name was hidden, due to the very fact that it’d, for sure, urge the sellers to sell their properties at an all-time higher rate!

Apple campus 2 Cupertino1-PING

Apple Campus 2 is going to be one of the best company-campuses in the world, in the coming time, if everything that the management claims is achieved. The proposed, 175 acres, campus will have 4-storeyed circular ‘spaceship’ architecture building to house about 13000 of its technocrats, a café with a seating capacity of 3000 people, an auditorium that will be able to house about 1000 people, and an area of 28000m2 will remain dedicated to an R&D structure. Apart from this, regular aspects of the campus will include an orchard, a fitness center, a renewable power plant, etc.

Although the cost of the project is estimated at a whopping $5billion, Apple Campus 2 in Cupertino is bound to attract thousands of Apple and non-Apple employees!

On the performance front, Apple makes sure it doesn’t have to take its words back, thus makes iPad Air a hardcore performer, by powering it with the new A7 chip, driven by a 64-bit architecture.

The Wi-Fi variant has a starting price of 499$ on the Apple store, while the Wi-Fi+Cellular variant starts from 629$.

The 5MP main & 1.2 MP front cameras are exceptional as always.

Apple Mini with retina display-PING

iPad Mini, with Retina Display

The latest variant in the ‘mini’-series is the brand new iPad mini, bundled with a Retina display.

The 7.9 inch screen of this device looks amazing, and boasts the 2048 x 1536 resolution very brilliantly. The pixel density has been elevated to a whopping 326 pixels per inch, which makes the display even more crisp and vibrant. This can also be looked in this way that the 3.1 million pixels of a 9.7 inch iPad have been embedded in a 7.9-inch screen size!

Apart from all the connectivity features, this variant is, also, powered by an A7 processor, thus enhancing the computing possibilities.

Similar to the Air, iPad mini also has 5MP & 1.2 MP cameras.

The iPad mini has a starting price of 399$ for the Wi-Fi variant.

The Camera redesigned Camera app has a nifty trick up its sleeve: if you want to shoot in burst mode, taking multiple shots in quick succession, just click and hold the volume-up button.

But today, technology has blown up and you can’t blame people for being insatiable especially when theres a platform like Android. People says the new Apple’s built-in update tool is downloading iOS 7 before people even ask to install it, taking up space that can’t be reclaimed. Generally Apple is doing great but there are still other things some people are not happy with on the all iOS7.  Also the Apple Tv touch to set up via the iOS 7 device.
