Chinese multinational technology company, Lenovo arrived at the mecca of gambling and introduced its four new Android powered smartphones – the Lenovo Vibe Z, Lenovo S930, Lenovo S650 and the Lenovo A859.
The elegant Vibe Z is the most appealing one in the lineup with its 5.5″1080p display, a quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage and a 13MP rear camera; a great effort as Lenovo’s first ever LTE Smartphone. This sleek smartphone is wrapped up in a silver or titanium body and is estimated to be released in February in Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and the Philippines for £333.
Liu Jun, Lenovo’s senior vice president, believes that the new Vibe Z was created with its elegant design, high performance and custom software so that customers could have the best smartphone experience at the speed of LTE.
Though S930 and S650 share some of the elegance of the former they certainly cannot match it with their 8GB of internal storage and 8MP cameras running on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. Both phones come with the same MediaTek 1.3GHz quad core processor and the 6” S930 comes at £193 whilst the S650 costs £139 (a bit high for a 4.7” cutie).
The A859 being the first of the A series is packed with a 720p display, 8GB of storage and an 8MP camera powered by a MediaTek quad core 1.3GHz processor and runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. This being the budget handset in the team comes at just £132.
Lenovo proves to be customer-friendly with their smartphones by offering a choice of screen size. Though their smartphones have created a stir in the market they are yet to decide upon their release in UK and US.

Lenovo Names Ashton Kutcher Its Newest Product Engineer
Although Ashton Kutcher failed to cast his magic with the recently released “Jobs”, it seems that his adaptation of the legendary Steve Jobs, if not the viewers, impressed the makers of one of the leading computer-manufacturing firm, no we are not talking about Apple, but Lenovo.
The PC giant has taken actor Ashton Kutcher on board, in the capacity of Product Engineer. The latter’s interest in technology and entrepreneurship is evident, as he, himself, became an entrepreneur in 2011, and has invested in two of the booming tech startups, namely, Uber and Spotify. Apart from these two, his firm, A-Grade Investments, is a regular investor in startups.
This move of Lenovo comes in light with the recently announced flagship campaign, #Betterway global live-stream. Lenovo, with its #Betterway crusade, and Ashton Kutcher as the Product Engineer, promises a brand new lineup of various innovative products.
The first product in the lineup is Lenovo’s Yoga tablet. The tab has a 1.2 Ghz quad core processor from Mediatek, and runs on Android 4.2.2. Apart from that, it has a 5MP rear and a 1.6MP front camera, to click photographs and for video calls. The tab has two variants, the 249$ 8-inch Yoga tab, and the 299$ 10-inch tab.
Ashton will be responsible for marketing the Yoga tabs across the globe.
The “What happens in Vegas” star, apart from his tech enthusiasm and knowledge, brings his 15million Twitter followers on the table. Thus, apart from giving the products an ‘Ashton feel’, he will expand the company’s reach in the social media.
Lenovo’s new Miix2 took the tablet industry by storm. It is a fresh tablet powered by the Windows 8.1 operating system. Here are some of our initial findings:

4. Glossy front and smooth rear finish
5. MicroUSB charging port, microSD slot (supporting up to 32GB cards).

7. Bluetooth 4.0 LE, 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi and up to 128 GB of eMMC onboard storage.
8. Intel quad-core Bay Trail-T Atom processor (same processors found on the more matured Dell and Acer tablets)
9. Intel HD graphics
The Lenovo Miix2 also features many other enhancements and features. For example, you are able to tilt the tablet to switch the views, the on-screen keyboard is very smooth and elegent, there is a 2-megapixel camera in the front, etc…
The only con we found was with the 2-megapixel camera. The pictures were not as impressive as you would find a more dominant tablet like the iPad or one some of the Android tablets.
At the time of writing the Lenovo Miix2 is priced around $299 each. The tablet is useful enough to package a Windows operating system with support for any traditional applicaton you will need to carry out your daily tasks.
