Valve Steam Machine Preview

Valve Steam Machine Preview

When it comes to comparing PCs and gaming consoles, PCs are bound to win. Despite being marginally higher priced than the next-gen consoles, they guarantee better graphics with their higher resolutions. However, it can’t be denied that gaming consoles like the Xbox One and PlayStation are PCs themselves as they contain all the required components of RAM, graphics cards, processors, RAM and power supply.

Amidst this confusion regarding PC gaming, Valve hopes to clear the air with its upcoming Steam Machine and Steam Operating System. The Steam OS is Valve’s open source Linux-based operating system which is designed and optimised for the ultimate gaming experience. A Steam Machine is a PC that supports the Steam OS. Essentially, there is no line of distinction between a PC and the Steam Machine. The latter is already enabled to also support Windows. The Steam Machine wins the race as it meets the minimal requirements of Valve enabling access to its packed games library on the exceptional Steam Store.

Having already released an update, the Valve further enhances the joy of gaming as the Steam Machine operates on the big screen. Steam Machines will also vary in appearance. With 1TB of storage space and the Nvidia GTX Titan graphics card, it is undeniable that the gaming experience is all set to be elevated to the next level. Another excellent feature of the Steam Machine is that it provides separate compartments for components which ensure improved cooling and effective functioning. Date of release and price are yet to be announced.
