BlackBerry"s Past Present and Future

BlackBerry’s Past Present and Future

Ever since the iPhone hit the market in 2007, we noticed BlackBerry going down its glory. The major reason behind is that Apple’s iOS and Google’s Android OS are just better and more efficient. Which made them a popular choice for majority of the consumers and they chose an iPhone or an android powered device over BlackBerry almost overnight.

Recently it was discovered that BlackBerry (aka RIM) will be going private. And not only that it was announced that there was a $1 billion quarterly loss and as much as 4,500 layoffs. Certainly this is not a good sign for BlackBerry. However, people are still wondering whether if this will be the last for BlackBerry or if there is actually a chance that BlackBerry might be able to come back to its original glory.

BlackBerry

According to Forbes magazine there are still about 50 million BlackBerry users. And till now BlackBerry holds the reputation for being one of the most tightly secured smart-phone in the planet. Many BlackBerry users feel that BlackBerry simply did not put enough effort to improve their product line. And at the same time there are users who feel that BlackBerry is still a better tool for communicating with others than the popular iPhones or Android phones.

Even though the company is taken private it is not clear whether it will actually make the future of this company better. For now, the future still looks very gloomy for this once thriving smart-phone company!

Below are the 7 years that defined BlackBerry

1.  2006: The CrackBerry craze for BB 7100 “Charm” series

3. 2008: The brewing Storm BB Storm series (2008) as iPhone and Android enters the market
